Your movies stay yours.

SubHush plays video files you choose, on your device, and mutes words from the file's subtitles according to the filter lists you set. Playback and filtering happen on your device. Your videos are never uploaded, and SubHush has no account system and collects no viewing history for anyone.

What SubHush keeps on your device

Your settings, your filter choices and custom words, resume positions per title, and, only if you add a home network share and choose to save its password, that password encrypted with a key that never leaves your device's secure storage. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

When SubHush uses the network, and only then

• Update checks: when the app starts, it may fetch a small file that says whether a newer SubHush exists. That request carries no personal information, no viewing information, and no identifier. If you installed SubHush from Google Play, Play handles updates and SubHush does not check on its own.
• Your home network shares: if you point SubHush at a media share on your own network, it connects to the address you gave it, using the username and password you provided, to list and play your files. It connects to nothing else.

What SubHush never does

SubHush contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. It never sells data, because it never collects the kind of data anyone could sell.

This website

If you join a Windows or Linux launch list on this site, we keep the email address you gave us for exactly one purpose: one email when that edition launches. The list is never sold or shared, and asking us to remove your address removes it. This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party trackers.

Children

SubHush is a tool for adults managing their own media. It does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version changes any of this, this policy will be updated first and the app will say so.
